I sit on a technical committee that's involved in defining and developing the DITA open standard. And during one of our weekly phone conferences, I started a discussion about the best way of translating XML files that have been written using DITA. It turned into an interesting and fruitful discussion, with expert input from some of the world's top documentation gurus. And the upshot is that OASIS is organising a webinar on the subject in September 2008. Well, two webinars, actually!

Registration opens for free DITA and XLIFF webinars

Attendees will learn how to reduce the costs and risks of translating XML content using the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) and the XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) standards. The free online webinars, which will be held 18 and 23 September 2008, are free and open to the public; however, registration is required.
