Server upgrade week: We're having a hectic week on the equipment front. Today, we replaced one of the servers in our office. Removing the old server took two strong men, and the new server that is replacing it was light enough for one technician to carry upstairs on his own. Tomorrow we have electricians in the office putting power lines out to the location where our new aircon unit will live - we are having a warm spring here, and we need to keep the temperature in our server room stable. At various points over the next day or two, we may need to power down our computers for half an hour or so. Sorry for the disruption, but it is worth it to ensure our equipment continues to operate smoothly during what I hope will be a long, warm, sunny summer here in Manchester.
